keywi USA is one of several subsidiaries of Hoffmann + Krippner, a German company that provides innovative input solutions for customers in the most diverse sectors, ranging from the Electronic industry, Medical technology, Engineering, Aviation, as well as Military engineering.
Hoffmann + Krippner is a family-owned company with over 200 employees and is headquartered in Buchen/Odenwald. As pioneers of the membrane keyboard and membrane switch technology, Hoffmann + Krippner has been a market leader in complex input systems since the company was established in 1972.
The innovative and knowledgeable product development teams are comprised of top-level engineers with a broad range of expertise. This allows Hoffmann + Krippner to develop and produce comprehensive input systems - including the housing, electronics, and software. Our customers also benefit from our long-standing expertise as a leading manufacturer of customized operating units and keyboards in Germany.

WHAT WE DO:
Hoffmann + Krippner took two concepts in which they have demonstrated expertise for over 35 years – customized input devices and membrane foil printing – and combined them to create the keywi Standard Keyboard division of the company. keywi (which stands, in short, for “keyboard wireless”) currently encompasses three types of industry-related keyboards - the MediBoard, FoodBoard, and HeavyBoard.
In each of these industry-specific keyboards, Hoffmann + Krippner uses a special membrane foil and surrounds it in a completely sealed, beautifully designed exterior housing that is scratch and chemical resistant and withstands common disinfectants. The super flat outer surface of the keyboard is splash-proof according to IP65 (NEMA 4X) standards, making it quick and easy to clean. The keywi keyboard also has individually domed keys, creating excellent tactile response even with gloved hands and has an optional integrated mouse pad.
